A streak of wins at the box office

BOLLYWOOD INSIDER: There have been more hits than misses at the box office this month. Irrfan Khan-starrer Hindi Medium remained a steady performer, raking in Rs. 1.3 crores on its third weekend. The film stands at a grand total of Rs. 54.90 crores. The film, made on a minimal budget of Rs. 22 crores, has gained Rs. 32.90 crores, taking its profit percentage to 149.54%. The film has already earned tax exemption in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has shattered all box office records. S.S. Rajamouli’s blockbuster has earned Rs. 1658.07 crores at the worldwide box office in all its versions. The film has set a huge Bollywood box office benchmark with a collection of Rs. 504 crores in Hindi version and Rs. 621.76 crores in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions. In the overseas market, the film earned approximately Rs. 310 crores at the box office, marking an overall profit of 459%.


Even as a docu-drama, Sachin: A Billion Dreams is now inching closer to the Rs. 50 crore mark. Currently, the film has made a collection of Rs. 45.50 crores at the domestic box office. Interestingly, the film has now beaten the lifetime collections of Naam Shabana which stood at the 8th position with a collection of Rs. 36.50 crores in the current year. Priyanka Chopra’s maiden Hollywood project Baywatch recorded a gross box office figure of Rs. 10.1 crore. Aamir Khan’s Dangal has crushed the Chinese box office, raking in a grand total of Rs. 1097.36 crores ($ 170.53 million). It has become the first Bollywood film to cross $ 200 million mark at the overseas box office. The film currently stands with the global collections of Rs 1879.70 crores.
